WEEK 4: Using Innovative Social Technologies for Interactive Marketing Communication

Social technologies like Facebook, Twitter and web meeting are considered new innovations that help people, companies and government agencies findings their ways into creating a more collaborative and communication in a large scale. Social media can be used for customer services, promotions, advertising and for performing effective communication in large organisations.  The most significant ways these technologies can be cooperative in large scales are building a cooperative culture and learning experiences. Creating these technologies will be more helpful to bring staff together to share experiences and to create cooperative culture. USTRANSCOM, for example, created a “command and control” procedure and introduced many innovative social technologies such as Facebook and Twitter that directly helped staff and employees to perform management process without having messages filtered. Large organisations are recently performed effective ways to deliver innovative communication and learning experiences though videocasts, live web meeting and collaboration platforms like You Tube which enables staff and employees to create and discuss work-related issues.




Companies and large organisations are used social media tools to participate in online discussions. Yammer, for example, performs an effective social network that enables staff and team members to communicate in a large scale. The majority of co-workers in large companies are receiving benefits from incorporating innovative social media in order to discuss work-related issues and share knowledge not only within the same organisation, but also with other organisations. With these innovative social technologies, head managers in large organisations have timely information about employees’ achievement and performance.      






Despite these advantages, large organisation may face challenges integrated social media into their systems. There is a lot to do of implementing social media in companies and large organisations. Organisations need to set procedures and goals for social media to be effective in a long run. The biggest challenges may include optimizing social technologies platforms like LinkedIn, selecting for good quality social media training, coming up with magnificent ideas about social media marketing, engaging staff, employees and customers on Twitter or Facebook, making money from these innovative social media marketing and managing time and productivity. Now, we need to share this and ask “what is the biggest challenges your/our companies’ face of having social media marketing”.
